Educational Therapist

Polly is a Certified Educational Therapist at Turning Points. She believes that every student deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that is most meaningful for them. As a parent of two children with dyslexia, Polly has seen first-hand the difficulties some students experience in learning to read with classroom instruction, and the benefits of educational therapy.

Polly earned a post-graduate certificate in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University, Oakland and is working on her Master’s degree in Educational Therapy. She also has an MBA from Loyola University, Chicago. Polly recently provided educational therapy services to students at a local charter school and at Raskob Learning Institute, one of the first organizations in the Bay Area to provide services for students and adults with learning differences.

Polly utilizes a variety of research-based multisensory approaches, including Wilson Reading System, Orton-Gillingham, Barton Reading & Spelling System, Making Math Real, and Handwriting Without Tears. She specializes in reading, spelling, and math instruction for elementary and middle school students who have probable or diagnosed dyslexia and/or dyscalculia. Polly provides tailor-made instruction in a nurturing environment to build foundational skills and develop confident learners.

In her free time, Polly enjoys volunteering with Scouts, camping, hiking, swimming, and playing with her two children, one dog, and three cats.
