Anne holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). With over fifteen years of experience working with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, Anne brings deep expertise and a compassionate, individualized approach to learning.
She is passionate about teaching to the whole learner—understanding that academic success grows from a foundation of emotional well-being, confidence, and self-awareness. Anne especially enjoys supporting students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, dyslexia, and dysgraphia, helping them build practical strategies and sustained self-confidence.
Her instructional approach blends creativity with evidence-based practice. Anne customizes lesson plans for learners of all ages, emphasizing phonological awareness, reading comprehension, and reading fluency. She integrates research-backed programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Barton, Seeing Stars, Visualizing & Verbalizing, and On Cloud Nine. She enjoys teaching writing–from outline to essay–and K-6 math lessons that incorporate movement and manipulatives.
When asked her motto, Anne says: “My strong belief in every student’s ability to succeed drives my passion for unleashing their potential.” This strengths-based philosophy is at the heart of her work—helping each student grow not only in skill, but in confidence, curiosity, and joy for learning.
