Emily is an Ohio native who moved to California in 2023. She graduated Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences (2014). During college, Emily volunteered with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, now known as ‘988’, to offer support to those in crisis in the Greater Columbus area.
After college, Emily worked as a Behavior Intervention Aide with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in their Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. In this role, she worked with clients ages 2 to 22 across the home, school, and clinic settings to offer holistic support and skill generalization for both clients and their families. Emily completed her graduate training at The University of Dayton, where she earned Masters of Education (2016) and Education Specialist degrees in School Psychology (2018). She also holds the Nationally Certified School Psychologist credential, and has practiced as a School Psychologist in four states – Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, as well as her current state of California. Emily has worked across public, private, charter, and specialty school settings in urban, suburban, and rural environments with students and families across diverse economic and linguistic backgrounds. She prioritizes a team-centered approach in order to complete the most comprehensive and informative assessments. Emily earned her Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) in the summer of 2026, and enjoys growing in her role to keep up with the changing needs of students and families. She maintains professional membership in the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP).
Outside of her professional work, Emily enjoys hiking, baking, and renting old movies from the library. Emily has also written 14 children’s books on social-emotional learning for Sleeping Bear Press and dabbles in freelance writing projects from time-to-time.
