Katie Pettersen is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Licensed Educational Psychologist, and Board-certified School Neuropyschologist who has worked within the K-12 school setting for the past 10 years. She is passionate about working to better the lives of the students, families, and staff with whom she works. Katie’s areas of interest within the field of school psychology include mental health awareness, learning differences, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, and neuropsychology.
Katie is a highly experienced professional who brings expertise and care to her work. Her collaborative approach and background in education and assessment provide valuable insight to families and students alike. Katie believes in empowering clients through comprehensive, strengths-based evaluation and support, and most recently earned her school neuropsychological board certification in 2025 through the American Board of School Neuropsychology.
She is especially passionate about helping students understand their unique learning profiles and connecting them with the tools and accommodations they need to thrive in academic and social environments.
Katie is also passionate about policy related to special education and mental health, and regularly engages in advocacy at the California state capitol. Katie serves as Secretary of the Santa Clara County Association of School Psychologists (SCCASP), Affiliate Representative on the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) Board of Directors, and Adjunct Professor in the Counseling & School Psychology program at UMass Global (formerly Brandman University).

Outside of work, Katie enjoys many hobbies. Katie is an avid scuba diver and birder. She enjoys sewing, woodworking, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends. Katie loves to travel and experience the beauty this world has to offer.
