Yulia is a dedicated Educational Specialist, educator, and academic leader with more than 15 years of teaching experience and over 11 years of leadership in educational nonprofit settings. She is a passionate advocate for developmental education, heritage language learning, and bilingual education, with her work deeply influenced by Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory and a strong commitment to meeting the individual needs of every learner.

Throughout her career, Yulia has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of roles, including Elementary School Teacher, tutor, Summer Camp Instructor, and work-study student mentor. She has extensive experience supporting students ages 5 to 25, with particular expertise in helping K–5 students strengthen their reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills. Her work also includes supporting bilingual learners who are developing English proficiency in order to successfully enter and thrive in the American school system.
As an educational leader, Yulia has spent more than a decade leading an educational nonprofit organization, where she has combined administration, program development, family support, and direct instruction. She is known for creating welcoming, inclusive learning environments and for using innovative, individualized methods to address diverse learning profiles and learning styles. Her practice is grounded in accurate and meaningful diagnostic assessment, careful progress monitoring, and the development of practical strategies that build confidence, independence, and long-term academic success.
Her areas of expertise include reading, writing, and math instruction; executive function development; organizational, planning, and time-management skills. In her work, Yulia use various research- and evidence-based programs and methodologies, including: Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars and Visualizing & Verbalizing, Barton Reading & Spelling System, Wilson Reading System, Math-U-See, Play Math. She also works closely with families by providing resources, advocating for students, and offering clear, informative feedback to help parents better support their children’s growth and development.
Yulia holds an M.S. in Business Administration from Saint Michael’s College and a B.A. in Education and Innovative Teaching Methods from Moscow State Pedagogical University. She also earned a Certificate in Instructional Design and Delivery from UCSC Silicon Valley and is currently completing a Certificate in Educational Therapy at UCSC Silicon Valley. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Educational Therapists and has completed CPR Training. She has also presented at several international conferences on bilingualism, reflecting her ongoing engagement with current research and best practices in education.
Her professional mission is to help each student develop the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to overcome learning difficulties and reach their fullest potential at every stage of development. She believes deeply in the value of lifelong learning and is committed to helping children not only succeed academically, but also discover joy and confidence in the learning process.
Her interests include reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, knitting, and cooking.
